"I take pictures to satisfy a curiosity in me, to capture the shape, structure and light in an object. Yet, the final product is not always what I saw. My ambition is to see in a picture what I see through my eyes. The mechanics of photography are a strong motivation for me, from the control of depth, to the control of light and movement and chemical manipulation. All these are of interest. Having taken part in the foyer's photography project I now feel able to run a similar project for residents myself," Ben Lancaster (aged 21).
